About The Event

Bonneville Youth Development Coalition (BYDC), Upper Valley Child Advocacy Center (UVCAC) and Jefferson County Parks & Rec are partnering together to raise awareness on suicide prevention.

The Hear the One mural will aim to help promote the importance of hearing individuals personal stories and understanding the importance of the one.

DETAILS:

Entry deadline is June 14th. One entry per person. 

Winning artists are expected to help paint their mural on the Jefferson County Lake Wall: 490 N. 4000 E. Rigby, ID 83442. 

The date of the mural will be announced at a later time.

 To be qualified to participate in the mural contest, you must currently reside in Jefferson County, Bonneville County and/or Madison County. Participants must currently be enrolled in middle school, high school or college. Submissions must focus on suicide prevention and contain elements of the great outdoors. 

All artwork must be original. 

Artwork submitted by email needs to be one of the following different file formats: PNG, JPEG, or PDF.

The attached waiver form must be filled out and submitted with entry. Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, and how well it fits the theme, Hear the One. Artwork may not contain any profanity, sexual content, or gang related material. 

SUBMISSION AND JUDGING:

Original artwork or a high resolution version needs to be submitted; artwork will be returned at the end of the mural painting. Artwork is recommended to be a minimum of 8x10 inches and in the horizontal position.

Submissions that cannot be dropped off may also be mailed in a way that protects the artwork or emailed to either info@bydc.org or ashleys@uppervalleychildadvocacycenter.com. 

Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges selected from BYDC, Jefferson County Parks & Rec and the UVCAC as well as selected community members; all decisions of the judges are final.

Artwork submissions may be combined into a collage with other entries for final mural painting.
