The Bonneville Youth Development Coalition (BYDC) works to give back and empower the youth in Bonneville in various ways. One of the ways they accomplish this is through awarding scholarships to exceptional youths that go the extra mile. BYDC is now accepting applications for its Extra Mile Award, a $250 scholarship given as a token of appreciation, recognition, and encouragement for the youth of Bonneville County who go the extra mile. Funds for these awards are made possible through the Drug-Free Communities grant and generous individual and business donations.
The Extra Mile Award is for youth ages 12-16 who have made exceptional efforts to go the extra mile in their own life situations, their homes, their schools, and/or their community. Recipients have until they graduate High School or equivalent, or until they turn 18 to request funds. The recipient can use this award for enrollment or registration costs associated with personal development, opportunities, conventions, courses, or other costs of training or developing personal or leadership skills.
